Design Highlights

Adjustable Elastic Band System

The hidden band underneath the toe patch lets you dial in the fit — widen it, tighten it, lock it down to your preference. This system makes the Shark 3 our most versatile fitting performance model.

Technology

Dual Rubber

The sole of the Shark 3 sports Science Friction 3 for increased durability, support, and edging performance. Over the toe and instep, we’ve incorporated Xtreme Friction for unmatched grip.

Design

Redesigned 3D Hooking Heel

Built with feedback from our international athletes, the redesign of our patented 3D Hooking Heel Cup for Climbing Shoes now features a second fin alongside the original. That extra edge opens up new ways to lock in — around aretes, corners, and anything else you can throw your heel at.

Technology

Knuckle Bumps

We've molded knuckle bumps into the Compression Molded Toe Box so your toes sit comfortably, even in an agggressive stance.

Design

Usage

The Shark 3 is our most versatile tool — tuned for both fit and function. Whether you’re smearing up techy slabs or fighting through steep roofs, it brings the power and comfort to handle it all.

Design

High Volume

High Volume (HV) models are designed for average to wide feet with taller insteps and larger heels.

these are amazing shoes! after having 2 pairs of sharks i have a list of pros and cons
pros:
-the adjustable elastic strap is an awesome feature and helps to personalize the fit
-these shoes perform very well on small footholds but where they really shine in my opinion is smearing on volumes
-the toe and heel rubber is incredibly sticky
cons:
these shoes aren’t terrible on steep terrain but i train on the tension board 2 quite a bit and i’ve noticed it is much easier to toe in on a small wooden foothold with other, more aggressive shoes; not terrible just suboptimal on boulders v9 and up
- maybe i got a lemon but the polycarbonate plate in the shoe snapped at the point where it gets stiff after about 3 months and started to cut through the rubber around my big toe and now that shoe is pretty much finished
- on a SEPERATE shoe the rand rubber around the heel tore a hole so i’ve lost all high tension heel hooking ability with that shoe
*TAKEAWAYS*
i think the shark is an incredible shoe and the issues i had might be due to the incredibly high volume i climb in.
sharks are a solid all round shoe, yes there are better shoes for slab/overhang and volumes/small feet but the sharks can perform well at both

Great shoe, a bit more relaxed than the Drone 2.0 but with a slightly better heel, not that the drone 2.0 was bad, but this improves on it. My street shoe size is 11, I had gotten these in 10.5, snug but not at all uncomfortable. As they break in I can imagine it will be the right choice!

Even though they feel tight and i was hesitent at first with the fit and comfort being kinda off. The minute i got onto a wall they that all went away and i was very happy with the performance. Mad Rocks always perform.

Great fit. Hard to get on, but once your foot is in, there are no pressure spots. Fits like a glove. So good and sticky toeing!

I just tried my new Shark 3s in the gym and absolutely loved them. Compared the the drone line, the fit is consistent. I love the pre molded toe bump and knuckles, made my foot feel like the shoe just grew on my foot. I can’t wait to be them outside to test the toe stiffness and arch flexibility. Great job Mad Rock, another win!!!!!

Comfy and aggressive. I LOVE these shoes

Extremely happy with the Shark 3 HV. The toe box has a roomy, boxy construction, making it super friendly for anyone with wide feet like myself. Additionally, the adjustable elastic band system under the toe patch adds a great customizable feature, allowing the shoes to mold more comfortably to your unique foot structure right out of the box

I didn't think I had a wide foot but even the HV version of this shoe feels a bit too narrow brand new.

Unimpressed with them, sticky but can't feel anything.

Ordered street shoe size. That was the correct move. sticky and hooky just how youd like. Not super soft or super stiff. Feels compy but its neutral. Really a good shoe

great shoe, super fast delivery. would recommend going with your tts for those with wider feet.

Bang for buck, best performance bouldering shoe on the market. Sized down .5 from my street shoe and they were TIGHT, but the length of the shoe was perfect. Used the old hair dryer trick to get them broken in. The shoe is pretty narrow for a HV, so the with adjustment was really good to have - had to set them to the most wide to get the fit just right. The heel is crazy good on small holds and the toe feels great on overhang. The middle of the shoe is soft enough to smear fairly well on volumes/slab. It really shines on anything 20° or steeper. Great for board climbing and steep boulders.

Honestly like more than drones. Slightly softer and arguably better heal. Best toe hook rubber ive had on a shoe. Fit well comparable to drone sizing. Have only had them a few weeks so im unsure about durability but now obvious signs of damage. Would buy again

I have fat and flat feet so its hard for me to find a pair of climbing shoes that really fit like they should right out of the box, but boy were these great. They felt molded to my foot after one session and some of the best grip ive felt on the wall even after many outdoor and indoor sessions. The heel features a tag/flap that helps hold slabs from the side and wow is it good. Im not sure on the competitive legality of these shoes but they are absolutley a cheat code. You can adjust the sizing of pretty much anywhere on the shoe and make it fit your foot perfectly. I will 100% be buying more of this pair, feels like it couldnt get any better.

Great pair of shoes, recommend you wear with socks or go a half size up, street size starts to pinch in some areas, toes in particular. Love the strap, love the overall effectiveness of the rubber sole, does it's work well and hope to put them to work for a long time

Box was banged up but perfect shoes

Really high quality. I feel like it fits my feet better than my sportiva solutions. And those were almost $200! The rubber is very grippy. Hopefully the shoe will last
