Beta Spray On Saving The Planet
PFAS Free*
We kept the performance and ditched the poison so you stay healthy.
Recycled Polyester
The planet’s melting. So we stopped making gear like it’s 1999.
Compression Molding
Fewer scraps. Same friction. Modern technology.
Upcycle Gear
We give good gear a second life, not a landfill.

PFAS Free*
Your health is just as important as the planet's. As of 2025, all Mad Rock soft goods are PFAS Free*.
We’re a small, family-owned crew without deep pockets or flashy investors. Sourcing new production methods wasn't easy or cheap. But we did it anyway because protecting you and the places we climb is worth it.
Why it matters:
- PFAS are "forever chemicals" linked to real health and environmental risks
- Going PFAS Free* helps reduce toxic runoff and long-term pollution
- We now use more eco-friendly finishes that still repel water and dirt without killing performance
* Made without intentionally adding per- and polyfluorinated substances; may contain trace amounts.

Recycled Polyester
Mad Rock has been the leading manufacturer and distributor of crash pads since 2002. It's our duty to produce responsibly. We've replaced all polyester products with recycled polyester.
Why it matters:
- Up to 30% fewer CO₂ emissions than virgin polyester
- Less energy and water during production
- Plastic bottles and textile waste out of landfills
- Same strength and performance climbers depend on
More Tactics For Success

Compression Molding
Compression molding is the future, and we’ve been on it since day one.
By letting us use only what we need, we create less scrap and less waste.
As of 2025, just three shoes in our entire line are still made traditionally. The rest are built with modern methods for a universal mission: climb harder, waste less.
2002 - Present

The R3 Program
From 2002 to 2023, we took the leftover foam scraps from our SoCal factory and crushed them into something useful.
That’s what filled the R3 Crash Pad and R3 Bean Bag Chairs. Over the years, the R3 program alone kept 5 metric tons of foam out of the trash.
Not bad for some “leftovers.”

Keep Good Gear Going
There's too much petroleum and too many mixed materials inside climbing shoes to recycle them.
When they’re still usable, we don’t toss them. We collect what we can and pass it on to local and international organizations that keep the send alive.
If it’s still got climbs left in it, it’s not done.
