Description

The Remora Pro HV is made for climbers who want to feel exactly what they’re standing on. It has the thinnest outsole in our line, giving it a lightweight, highly sensitive feel that works best on volumes, smears, dual tex, and technical movement where tactile footwork matters.

The shoe feels tight and aggressive when new, especially through the toes, but its softness is also what helps it break in quickly. Expect it to relax, with many climbers feeling a meaningful difference within the first session. The HV fit is the better choice for most feet, offering more room in the toe box and heel cup than the LV version while still keeping a secure, performance-focused shape.

After 20 years of experimenting and refining our compression molding technology, this is the softest shoe in the Mad Rock lineup and sits apart from the stiffer Drone models. It is best for climbers who already know they want a flexible, sensitive shoe for precise footwork, toe hooks, smearing, and climbs where feeling the foothold matters.

Design Highlights

3D Hooking Rim Heel

A fresh redesign of our patented 3D Hooking Heel Cup for Climbing Shoes that has set our shoes apart. The 3D Hooking Rim Heel is designed to have a more predictable performance while heel hooking. A flatter shape allows you to utilize more surface area, leading to increased contact when engaging your heel. The rim along the bottom ridge allows you to get the power you know and love out of our performance heels.

Technology

Heel Lock

EVA foam is sewn into the heel to fill in the empty gaps by the Achilles tendon and lock your heel into the shoe.

Technology

Tension Wrap

The next evolution of our Adjustable Elastic Band System, the Tension Wrap gives you the benefit of a two strap system without sacrificing rubber coverage. The bottom strap is sewn into the top rubber so you can enjoy deep toe hooks alongside a super secure fit.

Technology

Comfort Disk

Soft shoes and hard toe hooks usually equal pain. We've added a layer of EVA foam underneath the toe hooking rubber to cushion those painful toe hooks so you can stay in control longer.

Technology

Knuckle Bumps

Toe knuckles curling into tight performance shoes is one of the most common pain points in climbing. The Knuckle Bumps utilize our softest rubber, Xtreme Friction, with varying densities in order to soften the area around the knuckles. The accordion design allows the rubber to expand to any size knuckle comfortably and quickly.

Amazing shoes! I went with my normal street size (12) and the fit is spot on—snug with no dead space and a really secure heel lock for great performance and sensitivity, but still comfortable to wear.

By far the softest shoes I own. I love how well I can feel the texture of the foot holds through the rubber. Great for smearing

Comfortable and sensitive shoe. Best mad rock shoe I've owned to date, with the D2.one as a close second. Find the heel lock and toe bumps were a nice touch.

These shoes are awesome. I’ve have a few different high performance climbing shoes and it’s right up there with them, but not even close in the price department. Super soft but sturdy indoor gym shoes are what I use them as. Great for smearing and volume and overhang climbs but not too aggressive so it’s not uncomfortable for long periods.

Shoutout to the staff. I had the chance to go in person and they were incredibly helpful.

Soft and sticky while being surprisingly comfortable
Toe hooks are so lovely in these shoes (and other mad rocks too)

My favorite shoes they have released to date.

I climbed some really great lines this past season with the Remora Pro HV- highballs of consequence that I needed to full trust rock performance. I never though about the fit or friction. We also did some RX Trad lines that demanded serious climbing and I wore them as well. I had one boot fail in the arch but Mad Rock took care of the issue nearly immediately. I think the shoe is great for bouldering and performance trad and will keep a pair or two in my quiver. I don't think of this shoe as"Soft" as many people say it is. I think of this shoe as "Balanced" between edging, toe pointing, hooking and perhaps less of a true slab friction shoe but still smearable with powerful climbing.

The shoes are great, the bottom is really sensitive, almost scary feeling every bit of the foot hold

After a few sessions I can say that this is my favorite mad rock shoe. It’s soft and has no downturn which makes it comfortable for my flat feet, and the toebox is quite wide, comparable to instincts. The heel and toe rubber is soft and sticky, thanks to high friction rubber. I’m yet to see how they perform on overhangs and outdoors, but I imagine they work well on everything. Im glad these are selling out, as cheap good quality products from a US company are what we need.
